First of all I want to welcome the new followers of my blog. I hope you like it here and love to read your comments.

Forgive me for not posting earlier about my Castine experience...it's really  time to share it with you guys/girls! But you know how things go during the summertime.

I will keep this post short and show you the pictures of the things I made.
So here we go......

The sofa was made in Nancy Summer's class and the Spathiphyllum by Hiroyuki Kimura. His class was wonderfull, the leaves of his plant really move which makes them very realistic.

The cart was made during Francine Coyon's class a really wonderfull French lady with a great sense of humor!

And this is of the Trimmings Class from Jane Davies a very interesting class   where we've talked about 18th and 19th century trimmings how they where made and other sewing skills.

I've learned a lot during this wonderfull week and met wonderfull people from all over the world. It's I place I look forward to go back to.

Castine 2012

I've had a wonderfull time at Castine and made something for the exhibition and the auction overthere. The first picture shows my donation to the IGMA for the auction night. She was sold during the auction for a neat price and I know she will have a very good new home! I hope they will enjoy her very much I enjoyed making her

The next pictures show you the roombox which I made for the curtain to show at the exhibition.
This curtain and the silk that I've used on the walls will be used for the livingroom in my dollhouse.
It won't be exactly the same but it gives you an idea of the color scheme that I will use for it.

And ofcourse I made another doll to put in this roombox for the exhibition along with a nice flower arrangment(sory not on the picture). Her dress was a lot of fun to make and the picture doesn't show it. But her dress is a grey color in which there are silver shiny sparkles......which gives it a rich look

My next post will afcourse be about the week at Castine along with some pictures and the results of my workshops.

time for an update...

After about 2 months of not having time for miniatures it was finally January and "plenty" of time for miniatures! So it's time to work on my floral bouquet again. Okay don't tell me...I know it's not finished(yet) but it's nearly there. I just have to squeeze some more leaves in it and a few branches behind the lilies.

At a local dollhouse shop I found the perfect cabinet for my "to make shop". So when I got home I could finally start making it. Since I had a piece of the right wallpaper left I had it nearly(again) finished in two days. The front of the shop with the window still needs some attention but again nearly finished. Just some paint and ageing and it's perfect. Well next week I don't have to work so guess what I will be doing? Indeed finish some of the projects allready started! Issn't that just a good start for 2012? The reason to work on this little shop? That I finally was able to put my lovely collection of Veronique Lux toys in it. I know...it still needs more toys.

And today I had my first workshop this year. We've got nine tiles to paint something on. Of course in "Delfts Blauw". We've looked through old examples and came up with this design. It took us all day to draw and paint it in different shades of blue. This project was really tiny, it's just a bit wider and higher than 1 inch...but we've made it! But we couldn't take it home yet since it needs one more time to go into the oven. I really like the shape of the basket.
